13th General Conference of Mizoram Police Service Association (MPSA) was held on 12.5.2023 at GS Arya Mess, PHQ. Hon’ble Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga graced the opening session as Chief Guest. Hon’ble Home Minister Pu Lalchamliana as Guest of Honour, DGP Pu Devesh Chandra Srivastva IPS and other Senior IPS officers also attended the function. Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble CM complimented #MizoramPolice for always giving their best and underlined that they are worth praising for their dedicated service and accomplishments, especially during the recent difficult times faced by Mizoram such as #Covid19 pandemic and border issues, etc. He also said that the shortage of manpower and other needs of Police and other Government departments are being acknowledged and that steps will be taken to resolve them, although all the problems cannot be resolved at once, due to the financial constraints being faced by the Government.
Hon’ble HM Pu Lalchamliana also complimented the police officers for their excellent service to the general public. He also highlighted the need for improvement in discipline of police personnel and maintenance of their good health and well being, which are required for performing their duties effectively.
DGP Pu Devesh Chandra Srivastva IPS mentioned in his speech about the need for improving the human and material resources, service conditions of Mizoram Police Officers/ personnel to boost their morale. The function was chaired by MPSA President Pu Zosangliana, AIG (Hqrs). On this occasion, new members of the MPSA were also introduced and inducted. The conference deliberated on various ways and means to improve ‘Citizen Centric’ Policing.
