Acting on specific input, CID SB team launched a coordinated covert operation at the outskirts of Aizawl on 16.09.2024 and intercepted two vehicles at Hualngohmun at around 10:00PM. A thorough search of the vehicles led to the seizure of the following narcotics drugs:
1) 32.013 Kgs (32 bundles) of suspected methamphetamine valued at Rs. 4,14,16,900/- and 249 grams (21 packets) of suspected heroin valued at Rs. 7,47,000/- which were concealed inside the door panels of Renault Kwid car B/R No MZ01N-3642 were discovered and seized from the driver of the said vehicle, Lalthansiama (26) s/o Zomanthanga (L) of Khawmawi, Myanmar.
2) 8.021 Kgs (8 bundles) of suspected methamphetamine valued at Rs. 1,04,27,300/- and 565 grams (47 packets) of suspected heroin valued at Rs. 16,95,000/- which were concealed inside the door panels of Datsun Redi Go car B/R No MZ02A-9053 were discovered and seized from the driver of the said vehicle, Zoremmawia (23) s/o S. Lalhmangaiha of Khawmawi, Myanmar who temporarily resides at Muanna Veng Aizawl.
3) A third vehicle, i10 Magna Car B/R No. MZ01G- 5672 which sped off at Hualngohmun was later intercepted at Muanna Veng, Zuangtui this morning on 17.09.2024 at around 01:00AM. Search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of 2.284 Kgs (196 packets) of suspected heroin valued at Rs. 68,52,000/-. The driver of the said car, David of Zokhawthar absconded the car during the interception while the passenger and suspected second driver of the said car, a juvenile was apprehended at the spot.
The whole operation of the CID (SB) Team in two different places led to the seizure of total 40.034 Kgs of suspected Methamphetamine valued at Rs. 5,20,44,200/- and total 3.098 Kgs of suspected Heroin valued at Rs. 92,94,000/ seized from the possession of three persons. The two arrested persons as well as the juvenile in conflict with law along with the seized narcotics drugs worth Rs. 6,13,38,200/- in total were handed over to Special Narcotics Police Station this morning on 17.09.2024 where a criminal case vide Special Narcotics PS Case No.36/2024 dated 17.09.2024 u/s 21(C)/29(1)/25 ND&PS Act read with 14A Foreigners Act was registered for further legal action and investigation on backward and forward linkages.
