In a very unfortunate incident on Dt. 2.3.2022 at around 1:30 a.m., a medium truck vehicle carrying Mizoram SAPF personnel deployed for election duty at Manipur met with an accident at Tamenglong College campus in Tamenglong District, Manipur. Eleven (11) Mizoram police personnel got injured and were all rushed to District Hospital immediately.
Unfortunately, C/516 K. Lalawmpuia of Champhai Bethel succumbed to his injuries and was declared brought dead at District hospital. All injured personnel were airlifted to RIMS, Imphal. DGP Manipur and IGP CRPF Manipur Nagaland Sector have rendered all possible help in evacuating all the injured personnel.
A statement has also been made in the ongoing Mizoram Assembly Budget Session today by Hon’ble Home Minister Pu Lalchamliana, to bring the sad news of this unfortunate incident to the notice of the House, State Government and the general public. He also expressed his deep sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family and also wished speedy recovery to all injured personnel.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of our brave departed comrade Pu K.Lalawmpuia. While appreciating the outstanding services rendered by him in the line of duty, Mizoram Police conveys its heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family members.
