Date & Place of Occurence : 16.5.1989 at Jurkhal&Bashertol near Monierkhal Tea Estate
Brief of Action causing such death : Under the command of SI R. Vanlalauva, an operation was carried out against armed insurgent group. The Operation Team was consisting of the noted SI and four other Constables. On the way to their return after the operation, the team was ambushed by the underground. SI R. Vanlalauva was shot dead by armed insurgent group on 16th May, 1989.
He was awarded President’s Police Medal for Gallantry in the year 1983.
