Outraging the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation even in #CyberSpace is a very serious crime. A complaint was received from one lady resident of Farkawn, Champhai District stating that one Facebook user with profile name ‘Nunpuia’ had contacted her through messenger inviting her to have sex. Further, he had intimidated her by claiming that he has her nude photo and threatened her that he would post the said photo unless she took another nude picture and sent it to him. The victim suffered great mental stress and submitted a complaint. Hence, Cyber Crime PS Case No.22/23 Dt.01.05.2023 u/s 292(2)(a)/507 IPC R/w 67 of IT Act, 2000 was registered.
Another complaint was also received from one lady resident of Aizawl stating that, an unknown person using an unknown phone number harassed her to have paid sex and continuously tried to blackmail her , by intimidating and stating that he is going to post her nude photo. The victim submitted a complaint and Cyber Crime PS Case No.26/23 Dated 10.05.2023 u/s 292(2)(a)/507 IPC R/w 67 of IT Act, 2000 was registered.
After meticulous investigation and analysis of all electronic evidences, the culprit involved in the two cases Mungliankapa (23) s/o Zamchhuanpauva of Sesih Village, Champhai was arrested on 22.5.2023 by #CCPS team. Further investigation is in progress.
