Memorandum of Understanding between Mizoram Police and Mizoram University (a central university) for academic collaboration was signed on Dt. 7.12.2020 11:00 a.m. at Arya Mess, PHQ, Khatla, Aizawl. The function was graced by Pu SBK Singh, IPS, DGP Mizoram and Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor of Mizoram University. The MoU was signed by Pu John Neihlaia, IPS, IGP(Hqrs.) on behalf of Mizoram Police and Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar of Mizoram University on behalf of Mizoram University.
The main aim of this MoU is cooperation and collaboration in different areas like counselling female victims and apprehended person, remedial measures with regard to cases to rape and POCSO, psychological issues etc. The MoU will also be helpful in using technical expertise of Mizoram University in various projects of Mizoram police modernization and to develop and offer certificate for police personnel in computer application training. The support and modalities of various activities and the logistic arrangement of various issues will be sorted out by mutual consultation between the two organisations. The whole financial support under the agreement will be transparent and as per the mutual consent by both parties.
