#Wildlife matters. We have #ZeroTolerancePolicy on smuggling of wildlife species. Its preservation is one of our top priority and responsibility.On the night of 24.8.2022, alert and vigilant Vairengte Police Checkgate duty staff recovered and rescued nine (9) exotic wildlife species, being illegally smuggled in one vehicle. Rescued species include – 2 nos. of Capybara and 7 nos. of Grey monkey. Driver of the vehicle John Lalramnghaka (39) s/o Challianbuanga and his accomplice Lalremruata (20) s/o Lalawmpuia, both of Chhim Veng Vairengte were arrested. Further probe is in progress.
