No.F.14018/1/25-PR/13 Dated: Aizawl, the 7th November, 2025 : On 04.11.2025, the main forward link in connection with Zokhawthar PS Case No. 53/2025 dated 10.07.2025 under Sections 21(c)/29 of the ND&PS Act read with Section 14A(b) of the Foreigners Act, namely Lalchhuanthangi (50), d/o Hmingthanzauva (L) of Khatla South, Aizawl, presently residing in New Delhi, was apprehended in Delhi by the Zokhawthar Police Station team with the assistance of the Special Bureau and Delhi Police.

In the said case, 7.422 Kgs of brick-type Heroin No. 4 were seized on 10.07.2025 near Kudamsen Kai, Zokhawthar, and five accused persons had been arrested during the initial stage of the investigation.

The arrested accused Lalchhuanthangi is suspected to be the kingpin of a transnational drug trafficking syndicate operating between India and Myanmar. Reports also indicate that she had earlier been imprisoned in Thailand for eight years (2014–2022) in connection with a narcotics case and was also involved in a money scam case in Kerala in 2023, for which she was on bail at the time of her recent arrest. She is being brought to Mizoram by Champhai Police team after obtaining a transit remand from the Dwarka Court, Delhi.

The second accused, Joseph Lianthangpuia (42) s/o Lianchhuma (L) of Chanakya Place, New Delhi, was arrested on the night of 05.11.2025 in Delhi in connection with Saitual PS Case No. 63/2025 dated 23.08.2025, under Sections 21(c)/29/25 of the ND&PS Act read with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. The case pertains to the largest-ever heroin seizure in the history of Mizoram Police, wherein 15 Kgs of heroin were recovered from a vehicle (B/R No. MZ-01X-1909) driven by Lalliancheua (20), s/o Challianzula of Falam, Myanmar. The accused is being brought to Mizoram by Champhai Police team.

During the arrest operations, the Delhi Police and Special Bureau rendered invaluable assistance to the Mizoram Police teams. Their cooperation and support during the arrests, court procedures, and airport transit were commendable and deeply appreciated.
