Dated: Aizawl, the 11^th August, 2025 : Our relentless and untiring drive against drugs and other illegal activities continues. Significant seizures of contraband items were recently made by Mizoram Police at several locations as under:

 1).     A joint team comprising personnel from Special Narcotics Police Station under CID Crime) and the 225 Bn CRPF, Aizawl, conducted a coordinated operation in Seling area and Bungbangla, Aizawl on 9th August 2025. During the operation, the team intercepted a Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 bearing registration number AS-10D-9577. Upon inspection, they recovered and seized 3.930 Kgs of Methamphetamine (tablets), with an estimated market value of ₹51,09,000 (approx.)

Three individuals were arrested in connection with the seizure:

1. Sahab Uddin (41) s/o Abdul Kadir, resident of Kanishail, Karimganj District, Assam
2. Emanuel Remnalalliana (25) s/o Lamthanga, resident of Hmuncheng, Khawzawl District
3. Lalbiaksiama (23) s/o Ramdinliana(L) resident of Hmuncheng, Khawzawl District.

Case was registered at Special Narcotics PS vide Case No.24/25 Dt. 09.08.2025 u/s 22(c)/25/29(1) NDPS Act.

 2).     On 6^th August 2025, Champhai Police launched an operation, and seized 88 soap cases/1.053 Kgs (1053 grams) of suspected heroin, valued at ₹31,59,000  from a vehicle at Khankawn Checkgate. Further investigation revealed that the contraband consignment was dispatched by Agnes Lalremsiami (32) w/o Lalramsiama, resident of Vaphai village. She was arrested in connection with the offence and a case was registered at Champhai PS vide C/No. 118/25 dated 06/08/2025 under section 21(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985.

 3).     On the evening of 1^st August 2025, a team from CID (Special Branch) and Special Narcotic PS under CID Crime conducted a joint operation to intercept suspected narcotic substances being transported along the Zemabawk-Seling route. The team intercepted a TATA Yodha Pick-up truck (MZ 01 X-5782), driven by B.Lalthazuala (45) s/o T Johana of Republic Mual Vengthlang. On a discreet search of the vehicle, a hidden compartment beneath the cargo bed was discovered, 20.304 Kgs of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine with an estimated value of Rs. 300 crore, and 1.625 Kgs (120 soap cases) of suspected Heroin, valued approx. ₹49,56,000 were recovered and seized.

Case was registered at Special Narcotics PS vide 23/25 Dt. 01.08.25 u/s 21 (c)/22(c)/25 ND&PS act 1985. On sustained interrogation of the accused person, one main suspected accused person Bawilianthang (42) s/o Khuangling of Tahan C Group was also arrested on the same day.

 4).     On the night of 1^st August 2025, a joint operation was conducted by Lunglei Police (District Special Branch) and the 20^th Battalion Assam Rifles, Lunglei, at Lungpuizawl Veterinary Complex. During the operation, 220.81 grams (18 soap cases) of suspected Heroin, valued at ₹662,430/-, along with one mobile phone were seized from the possession of one passenger of a Lunglei-bound vehicle coming from Champhai (Registration No. MZ04-6761) - Lalrintluangi (33) d/o Lalvuana, of Tuipui, Champhai.

Another 120.31 grams (10 soap cases) of suspected Heroin, valued at ₹. 3,60,930/-, along with two mobile phones, were recovered from the possession of three other passengers travelling in the same vehicle - Lalhlimawmi (44) w/o Lalhmingmuana of Zonuam, Lalhmingmuana (33) s/o Lianzika of Venglai, Lunglei and Vanlalfeli (42), d/o Vanrammawia of Muallungthu, Aizawl District.

 5).     On the night of 31^st July 2025, Champhai Police at Khankawn Checkgate recovered and seized significant quantities of heroin in separate incidents. In the first instance, 167 grams (16 soap cases) of suspected heroin, valued at ₹.5,01,000, were seized from the joint possession of Lalmuanawma (38) of Lunglei Venglai and K. Lalawmpuia (27) of Hnahthial Lungleng Veng. In another instance, 364 grams (31 soap cases) of suspected heroin, with an estimated market value of ₹.10,92,000, were seized from joint possession of C. Zoramhluna (29), Lalnunzira (34), and Lalthanmawia (30), all residents of Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl.

 6).     On 28^th July 2025, a coordinated operation conducted by Champhai Police and CID (SB) resulted in the successful seizure of illicit narcotics consignment. The operation led to the seizure of 440 grams (36 soap cases) of suspected heroin, with an estimated market value of ₹ 13,20,000, from the joint possession of two individuals, identified as Kalpo Jyoti Borah (26), Lakhimpur, Assam and Rajan Brahma (32), Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

The contraband was concealed within a clandestine compartment located in the rear door of a white Tucson vehicle bearing the registration number AR-01S-1125, which was also seized during the operation.
