No.F.14018/1/25-PR/10 Dated: Aizawl, the 26th September, 2025 : Seizures of contraband items were recently made by Mizoram Police as under:

1).      On the night of 25.09.2025, a special team of Saitual Police conducted random vehicle checking on Champhai Road near Saitual Bypass. During the operation, the team seized 11.316 Kgs of Methamphetamine, valued at approximately ₹1,47,10,800 from the illegal possession of Lalthlengliana (39) s/o Sangkhuma and Lalthansanga (33) s/o Late Liansim, both of Zokhawthar, Champhai.

2).      On 24.9.2025, a joint team of Special Narcotics PS and CID SB conducted operation at Zemabawk East, Aizawl. The team seized 127 grams of Heroin worth Rs.381,000 from the illegal possession of Lalruattlingi (33) d/o Thianglaikhuma (L) of Phunte, Falam District, Myanmar. Special Narcotics PS Case No.29/25 Dt.24.09.25 u/s 21(b) ND&PS Act, 1985 r/w 21 Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025 was registered.

3).      Champhai Police seized 358 grams of Heroin worth ₹10,74,000 in four separate cases.

a)       On the night of 22.09.2025, Champhai Police while conducting routine vehicle checking at Khankawn Check Gate recovered and seized 119 grams of Heroin worth ₹3,57,000 from the illegal possession of Ngunneihmawi (50) d/o Mahthawng of Falam, Myanmar. 

b)       On 23.09.2025, Champhai Police while conducting random checking at the outskirts of Zote recovered and seized 36 grams of Heroin worth ₹1,08,000 from the illegal possession of Zohmingthanga (34) s/o Lalhmingliana of Electric Veng, Champhai and Lalpekthuama (30) s/o Lalzakapa (L) of Seling (P/A Bethel Veng, Champhai).

c)       On 23.09.2025, Zokhawthar Police along with the 14 Assam Rifles conducted random checking duty at the Indo-Myanmar Border Gate at Zokhawthar. One person carrying a folded green tarpaulin from the Myanmar side was intercepted on suspicion. The suspect managed to escape into the crowd, but 58 grams of Heroin worth ₹1,74,000 were recovered from inside the tarpaulin. Later, the accused was identified as Lalthlanpianga (26) s/o Lallianeng of Neuva Section, Zokhawthar Village.

d)       On the night of 23.09.2025, on conducting routine checking of vehicles at Chalbawia Junction, Khankawn Check Gate, 145 grams of Heroin worth ₹4,35,000 was recovered and seized from one vehicle Alto 800 taxi (White) B/R No. MZ-01/K-5508, driven by Lalengzauva (30) s/o Lalnia of Vaphai (P/A Chanmari, Aizawl).

Amah hi a hnu ah Lalthlanpianga (26) s/o Lallianeng, Neuva Section, Zokhawthar a ni tih hriat chhuah a ni.
