With the ban on transportation of illegal Areca nuts in the State, and armed with the order issued by Mamit District Magistrate u/s 144 CrPC, prohibiting entry and exit of Areca Nuts within Mamit District, in the early morning of 18.12.2022 @ 2:30AM, #MamitPolice recovered and seized 13 bags/1040 Kgs of smuggled dry Areca Nuts, illegally being transported by one vehicle (Sumo) at Highway Junction, Darlâk. Two accussed persons – Lalmuanpuia (39) s/o Rinliana (L) of Mualpui, Aizawl and Zoramsanga (30) s/o Zakamlova of Bawngkawn, Aizawl were arrested and Mamit PS Case u/s 188 IPC has been registered.
