In the continuation of six successful NISD Sponsored awareness programmes organized by Training Branch PHQ on “Drug Abuse for Police and Prison Functionaries” in 2017-18, on 28.05.2019 Training Branch PHQ organized the same programme as a model for the series of eight such programmes to be organized in all District Headquarters all over state for 2019-20. The programme was chaired by Sh. Devesh Mahla, IPS and graced by DIGP Training Sh. M N Tiwari, IPS as chief guest.
In addition to the above awareness programmes for 2019-20, Training Branch PHQ shall also organize eight, three days Capacity Building and Awareness programmes on drug abuse to further strengthen the capacity and awareness among Police Officers. Each programme has the capacity to accommodate 40 officers up to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. The awareness and capacity building programmes are delivered to targeted group of officers to wean them out of drug demand and abuse and strengthen their legal capacity to deal with NDPS cases.
