Saiphai Police Outpost team recovered and rescued exotic wildlife species.

Preservation & protection of wildlife species is one of our top priority and responsibility. We follow #ZeroTolerancePolicy against their illicit smuggling. On the night of 24.9.2022, alert and vigilant Saiphai Police Outpost (Kolasib District) team recovered and rescued 19 exotic wildlife species, being illegally smuggled in Maruti Wagon-R vehicle. Rescued species include – 6 nos of gibbons, 3 nos of small monkeys and 10 nos of different reptiles. Driver of the vehicle Birhan Uddin Laskar (24) s/o Rafik Uddin Laskar of Channighat, Cachar, Assam and his three accomplices – Kamal Hussain (34) s/o Mosahid Ali of Karimganj, Assam and Abdul Ruf (25) s/o Atabur Rahman & Niaz Hussain (21) s/o Bosir Ali of Bagha Bazar, Cachar Assam were arrested. The rescued wild animals were handed over to Customs Department.
