3 Officers of Mizoram Police awarded President’s Police Medals on the occasion of Independence Day 2024

Mizoram Police extends a big congratulations and huge round of applause to three of our officers who are awarded with well-deserved President’s Police Medals on the occasion of Independence Day 2024 by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as under:-

I. PRESIDENT’S POLICE MEDAL FOR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE :

    PU ZORAMSANGA RALTE MPS, Deputy Commandant, 3rd Bn. MAP.   

Spanning over a career of 36 years of commitment, dedication and devotion to duties, he has served in various assignments with distinction. The officer is a well disciplined and reliable officer who had been posted in various Police Stations and was posted as Officer-in-Charge of Police Station, Aizawl (Sadar Thana) in State Capital. He had been successful in investigation of many heinous crimes like murder, fraud and earned convictions. He had been deputed to the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) 2003-2004 and was awarded the UN Medal for service for his sincerity and devotion to duty.

Though starting his service as Sub-Inspector in Unarmed Branch (District Police), he is found efficient and keen in Armed Branch also, and was entrusted with the job of Adjutant in Bn. Hqrs. He had been posted Addl. SP Security during 2020-2023 where responsibilities are sensitive which included arrangement of security to visiting and state dignitaries requiring efficient and tactful officer. He is now posted as Deputy Commandant, 3rd Bn. MAP, Mualpui, Aizawl, the efficient and dynamic Armed Unit of the state.

 II. POLICE MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE :

       1). PU KASTE ROMALSAWMA MPS.

       Kaste Romalsawma was enrolled in Mizoram Police as Sub-Inspector on 07.04.1995 and now promoted to Dy. SP. His achievements and contribution during 29 years are as follows:-

In 1997, a new law, Mizoram Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1997 (MLTP Act) was introduced. SI Kaste Romalsawma holds the recorded of highest recovery of Prohibited Liqour and submission of Charge Sheet under the said Act, amongst Mizoram Police Officer in the beginning year.

Since he was interested Officers amongst I/Os, he was appointed Fingerprint Cell Incharge in Aizawl District. His chance print lifted from Crime Scene in connection with Aizawl PS Case No. 69/2004 led to conviction of accused in the Court. This was the first ever successful case wherein Chance Print was lifted by Non Finger Print Expert among Mizoram Police and he was awarded cash reward.

He was chosen Second Best Investigating Officer in Aizawl DEF in 2003. He also became the fourth Sub-Ordinate Police officer to earn an LL.B degree while in service in Mizoram Police since 1972.

While he was posted at Lengpui Airport as O/C, his team detected smuggled gold weighting 1.7 kgs on 16.03.2018. He was rewarded with DGP Commendation Disc in the year 2019.

        2). INSPR. VANLALHLUNA, 1st IR Bn., Mualvum.

       Spanning over a career of 36 years of commitment and dedication to assigned duties, Inspr. Vanlalhluna has served in various assignments with distinction. The officer is a well disciplined and reliable officer. While he was posted as Quarter Master of 3rd Bn. MAP, Aganwadi Centre building (18×24) within battalion complex was constructed in 2014 under his close supervision.

He have been actively involved in the ongoing development works within the battalion since he was posted as Quarter Master of 1st IR Battalion Mualvum with effect from 2023. He played a vital role in installation of 25 street lights at various places of battalion complex and re-construction of carpentry workshop building within a short period.
