Date & Place of Occurence : 24.3.1999 at Vaitin Village
Brief of Action causing such death : On 24th March1999 at about 6:00 AM, Pu Zothanmawia, YMA President, Vaitin saw armed insurgent group entering into their village. The matter was immediately informed to the Police. In response to the report, a Police Party consisting of four constables under the command of ASI Zoramsanga immediately proceeded towards the place where the underground outfit were seen. While proceeding towards the place, the underground outfit opened fire on the Police party; ASI Zoramsanga was shot dead at the spot.
