In joint operation conducted by the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID Crime and 2nd Assam Rifles on 12.6.2024, as many as 200 soap cases containing suspected Heroin weighing a total of 2.340 kgs with value of Rs. 70,20,000/- were seized near Saitual Quarry, Saitual District. The suspected Heroin were seized from the possession of Ginsiankhawmmung 31yrs s/o Lianchin(L) of Bulfek, Myanmar who was transporting the drugs towards Aizawl in a two-wheeler. The accused Ginsiankhawmmung attempted to flee from the spot but he was eventually apprehended and arrested and the vehicle used in the crime has also been seized. His accomplice Lalthansanga 39yrs s/o Lalrinliana Sailo of Bethlehem Vengthlang, Aizawl also arrested on 12.6.2024.
In this connection Special Narcotics PS Case No. 26/24 u/s 21(c)/29(1)/25 ND& PS Act r/w 14(A) Foreigners Act dt.12.06.2024 has been registered and further investigation is being conducted to trace the forward and backward linkages.
