Cyber Cell was inaugurated at Lunglei Police Station.

On 11.7.2024, a newly set up ‘Cyber Cell’ to tackle the increasing cases of Cyber Crime and IT related offences for Lunglei DEF was inaugurated by Pu C. Lalthanmawia IPS, DIG (SR) at Lunglei Police Station.
Since the month of March 2024, stolen mobile phones worth ₹12,00,000 (Twelve lakhs) have been recovered by Lunglei Police through the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) Portal and the newly set up Cyber Cell would address the different problems faced by investigating officers thereby relieving the work of the Police Stations. Apart from taking up the different cyber crime related offences and monitoring & maintenance of different portals such as CEIR, ICJS, ITSSO, CriMAC, NIDAAN, CyTrain, NDSO and NAFIS, the Cyber Cell will also perform the function of analyzing CDRs relating to cases of Investigating Officers using the newly developed i9 CDR and Towerdump Analysis Software.
