Acting on intelligence input, on 24.7.2024 at around 4:30 AM, a team from Special Narcotics PS (CID Crime) intercepted one vehicle (Bolero pick up) bearing registration no. TR-05C 1813 at the outskirts of Dulte village, Khawzawl District. The team recovered and seized 14.082 Kg of suspected Methamphetamine and 2.804 Kgs (191 Soap cases) of suspected heroin from the hidden /secret compartment of the vehicle. In this regard, the following three persons from Tripura were arrested.
MD Iman Hossain (23 yrs) s/o Mantaj miah of Sunamura Sepahijala Dist, Tripura.
Rippan Hossain (37 yrs) s/o Aifu miah of Mog Bari, Kulubari Sepahijala, Tripura.
Niranjan Karmakar (40 yrs) s/o Lt.Priyalal Karmakar of Cemper Tila, Chandigarh, Purba, Tripura.
In this regard, Special Narcotics Police Station Case No.31/2024 Dt.25.07.2024 u/s 21(c)/22(c)/25/29(1) ND&PS Act was registered for further legal action and investigation of forward and backward linkages.
