In the night of 27.09.2024 at around 9:00PM, a joint team of Vairengte Police and CID (SB) Vairengte while conducting checking of illegal drugs and liquor at Vairengte Police check gate, Kawngthar veng intercepted two Auto Rickshaws. They recovered and seized 17 Kgs (17 Packets/170000 tablets) of suspected methamphetamine from the possession of the driver of Auto Rickshaw B/R No. MZ-05A/8955 – Lalhmangaihzuala (40) s/o Zova of Vengthar, Vairengte and 18 Kgs (18 packets/180000 tablets) of suspected methamphetamine from the possession of the driver of Auto Rickshaw B/R no. MZ-05B/1904 – Lalfakzuala (24) s/o Vanlaltlana of Vengthar, Vairengte.
The total seizure – 35 Kgs of suspected methamphetamine is valued at ₹ 445,00,000 and Vairengte PS Case No.44/2024 Dated 27.09.2024 u/s 22(c)/25/29 ND&PS Act was registered for further legal action and investigation on backward and forward linkages.
