On 23.8.2022, official transfer and handing over of arms and ammunitions from Mizoram Police to Mizoram Home Guards & Civil Defence was held at GS Arya Mess, PHQ, Aizawl. The surplus weapons handed over on permanent basis on the approval of Mizoram Government involves 200 numbers of Self Loading Rifles (SLR) and 100 numbers of INSAS Rifles, with magazines and ammunitions.
Pu John Neihlaia IPS, IGP (Hqrs) officially handed over the arms and ammunitions to Maj. Zosangliana Hualngo, Commandant General cum Director, MRHG & CD in the presence of Chief Guest, Hon’ble Home Minister of Mizoram Pu Lalchamliana. The programme was also attended by senior police officers and officers from MRHG&CD.
