On further investigation and follow up of Champhai PS Case (involving seizure of 12.584 Kgs (1,11, 100 tablets) of methamphetamine from one vehicle (Truck) at Tuipui village, Champhai District around midnight day before yesterday, and sustained thorough interrogation of arrested accused persons with sister agencies, another 15.666 Kgs (1,41,400 tablets ) of the contraband, valued approx. ₹ 47 Crores in internaltional market was recovered on 22.9.2022 from the seized vehicle. The drugs were concealed in a specially designed concealment cavity/chamber fixed inside cabin of the seized vehicle. Hence, the total quantity of drug seized is now 28.250 kgs (2,52,500 tablets) valued at over ₹ 84 Crores in international market. Further investigation on forward/backward linkages is still underway.
