The 20th edition of the Mizoram Police Sports Meet held during 17th – 21st October, 2022 was concluded on 21.10.2022 with great fanfare at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui, Aizawl. Hon’ble Home Minister, Mizoram Pu Lalchamliana graced the Closing Ceremony as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest said that #MizoramPolice has always been the forerunner in various disciplines of sports and has brought many laurels for the State. He stressed upon the fact that police force and fitness goes hand in hand and all police officers/personnel should strive to be physically and mentally fit all the time. He also congratulated all the medal winners, while encouraging all participants to work harder and come back stronger in the next Meet. He also declared the Sports Meet ‘Closed’.
DGP Mizoram Pu Devesh Chandra Srivastva IPS, while proposing vote of thanks, said that Mizoram Police is one of the most professional and disciplined force in the country and that the standard and skills displayed by our men and women during the Sports Meet was second to none. He also congratulated and thanked all involved for making the Meet a roaring success.
Central Range Contingent consisting of Aizawl DEF, Saitual DEF & Traffic clinched the ‘Overall Champion’s Trophy’, bagging 16 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 Bronze medals.
IV-Grd Lalhmangaihzuali of 5th IR Battalion was adjudged ‘All Round Best (Women)’, bagging 2 Gold & 2 Silver medals; and ‘All Round Best (Men)’ Const.Lalbiakhlua of 3rd Bn. MAP also bagged 4 Gold & 1 Bronze medals.
Various Districts/Bns/Units of Mizoram Police, divided into 11 (eleven) Contingents, competed in 19 different Sports disciplines during the five-day event.
