On 11th February, the newly constructed 18 bedded hospital and barracks was inaugurated at Police Training School, Thenzawl by the DGP Mizoram Pu Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS .
The medical infrastructure at PTS for detoxification and rehabilitation of Police personnel, funded under the National Fund for Control of Drugs Abuse (NFCDA) Ministry of Finance, Govt of India, was completed in six months. DGP Mizoram also attended an interaction meeting with 271 trainees (newly recruited constables and Head Constables(Opr)), who were appointed on compassionate grounds recently. He exhorted them to don the role of ‘Protectors of the Society’ and dedicate themselves for selfless public service. He also gave a patient hearing to the grievances/issues raised by the trainees, and promised to look into them for expeditious resolution with the support of the Government.
