Early morning of 12.3.2023 @ around 1:00AM, Hachhek Bial Kuhva Chingtu Pawl (HBKCP) intercepted two heavy trucks carrying 221 bags (approx. 17680 Kgs) of dry arecanuts near Zamuang village, Mamit District. The trucks alongwith the consignments were taken to Rengdil village. SDPO, Kawrthah and team immediately rushed to the site, where the trucks and consignments were handed over to Police for further legal action. Accordingly, 110 bags (approx. 8800 Kgs) of dry arecanuts were seized from the truck driven by Lalmuanawma (29) s/o R.Sanghluna of Aizawl Maubawk and 111 bags (approx. 8880 Kgs) from another truck driven by Laltlansanga (36) s/o Rokunga (L) of Kolasib Venglai. The consignments were being transported from one godown in Phaisen, Kolasib District, bound for Kanhmun, Mamit District via Bairabi – Zamuang road. Further legal action is in progress.
