Prioritising the well being of the children whether in need of care and protection or in conflict with law are our collective responsibility. On 24.4.2023, a training session was conducted for Lunglei District Child Welfare Police Officers( CWPOs) and Special Juvenile Police Unit(SJPU) under Juvenile Justice(JJ Act) Act (Care and Protection) 2015 at SP Office Conference Hall, Lunglei, attended by 19 personnel, 6 from District Child Protection Unit ( DCPU) and 13 from #LungleiPolice. Pi JH Lalparmawii, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board(JJB), Lunglei District and Pi Lalrinkimi Hmar, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) attended the sessions as resource persons. Various important topics – Investigation of Crime committed by Juveniles, Handling of Juveniles in conflict with law, Handling of Juveniles in needs of care and protection, Discussion on relevant sections of JJ Act, mainly 77 and 78 JJ Act, Role of Special Juvenile Police/ Child Welfare Police Officer, etc were discussed at length.
