In the night of 31.5.2023, police on duty at Dungtlang Police Checkgate recovered 1.418 Kgs (115 soap cases) of Heroin, valued over ₹7 Crores in international market from the illegal possession of 1) Chungmangbawih s/o Thanhleisum of Thipchang, Myanmar, 2) Malsawmtluanga s/o Lalmawizuala, Zokhawthar and 3) Parcheri w/o Chungzauk, Zokhawthar. All of them were travelling in one vehicle (Breeza) proceeding from Khawmawi, Myanmar and were headed to Khawbung via Saikhumphai. A case u/s 21( c) /29/25 ND&PS Act r/w 14(A) Foreigners Act registered at Dungtlang PS for further investigation and to ascertain forward/ backward linkages.
