Green Mizoram Day was observed on June 11, 2019 (Tuesday) by Mizoram Police under the direction of DGP, Mizoram. All 23 Units of Mizoram Police in co-ordination with other concerned departments participated in planting of trees to emphasize the importance of planting trees for a better and greener Mizoram. A total of 4107 saplings of fruit-bearing, flowering and timber-producing trees were planted within various police complexes, along national and state highways and other public or government places. The day was spent to encourage awareness on climate change, to appreciate the beauty and importance of nature and to action in protecting our environment.
