In the midnight of 29.4.2023, Const. Rohmingliana of 2nd IR Battalion, Khawzawl, performing duty at 2nd IR Bn. Main Gate intercepted three vehicles suspected of carrying dry areca nuts and immediately informed #KhawzawlPS. The PS party immediately rushed to the spot and recovered 190 bags (approx. 15000 Kgs.) of illegally transported dry areca nuts from the three vehicles – driven by 1). Lalhruaithara (28) of Zote, Champhai District (30 bags), 2) Lalzarliana (29) of Tlangsam (80 bags), 3) Lalhmingtluanga of Tlangsam (80 bags).
The seized items are being handed over to Superintendent, Customs Preventive Force, Champhai for further legal action. The sharp vigil, alertness and diligence of Const. Rohmingliana, 2nd IR Bn. is commendable and worth applauding.
