Opening Ceremony of XXI Mizoram Police Sports Meet 2023 during 18th – 22nd September was held today at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui, Aizawl. Hon’ble Chief Minister, Mizoram Pu Zoramthanga graced the function as Chief Guest. The Sports Meet is being organized by Mizoram Police Sports & Cultural Control Board (MPS&CCB) with a theme of “Unity through Sports”.
Various Districts/ Bns/Units of Mizoram Police have been divided into 12 (twelve) participating contingents, by combining them based on their geographical locations as under:
1) 1st Bn. MAP, 2) 2nd Bn. MAP, 3) 3rd Bn. MAP, 4) 5th IR Bn., 5) Northern Range (Kolasib DEF, 1st IR Bn.), 6) Southern Range (Lunglei, Serchhip, Hnahthial DEFs/PTS), 7) Central Range (Aizawl, Saitual DEFs, Traffic), 
Chhimtuipui Range (Siaha, Lawngtlai DEFs, 3rd IR Bn.), 9) Western Range (Mamit DEF & 4th IR Bn.), 10) North East Range (Champhai & Khawzawl DEFs & 2nd IR Bn.), 11) Red Group (MPRO, F&ES, ACB, FSL & DM&R), 12) PHQ Group (PHQ, CID(SB), CID Crime, Security & Secretariat).
Chhimtuipui Range (Siaha, Lawngtlai DEFs, 3rd IR Bn.), 9) Western Range (Mamit DEF & 4th IR Bn.), 10) North East Range (Champhai & Khawzawl DEFs & 2nd IR Bn.), 11) Red Group (MPRO, F&ES, ACB, FSL & DM&R), 12) PHQ Group (PHQ, CID(SB), CID Crime, Security & Secretariat).These 12 contingents will compete in 18 different sporting disciplines/events. Pertinently, the 1st Mizoram Police Sports Meet was held in the year 1987. The Sports Meet will be closed on 22nd September (Friday) at the same venue in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Home Minister, Govt of Mizoram.
