The untiring drive against drugs and other illegal activities continues. Significant seizures of drugs and other illegal items were recently made by Mizoram Police at several locations as under:
1). Pursuing a reliable input from Champhai Police, a team of CID SB intercepted drug trafficker yesterday on 5.12.2024 at Bawngkawn (Durtlang road) and seized 90 grams (8 soap cases) of suspected heroin, valued Rs. 2,70,000 in local market rate and 9.595 Kgs (approx. 1 lakh tabs) of methamphetamine tablets, valued Rs. 124.73 lakhs in local market, from the illegal possession of Rodintluanga (25) s/o Khawpuimawia (L), Champhai Zotlang (P/A Bawngkawn Shalom Veng). The seized contraband items were hidden inside the door panels of his vehicle Hyundai i10 Sportz B/R No. MZ-01 J 6240. Case was registered at Special Narcotics PS.
2). On 4.12.2024, Lunglei DSB team recovered and seized 42.38 grams (4 soap cases) of suspected heroin, valued Rs.1,27,140 from the illegal possession of Lalremfela (32) s/o Lalsangmawia of Durtlang Leitan, Aizawl and David Lallawmawma (32) s/o Zonunsanga of Durtlang, Aizawl at the outskirt of Pukpui from their vehicle Maruti Dzire B/R No.MZ-01X-0864. A case under ND&PS Act was registered at Lunglei PS.
3). Acting on input received, a joint team of Thingsai PS and 42 Assam Rifles, Thingsai while conducting joint operation on 4.12.2024 at Thingsai Check gate recovered and seized various explosives from vehicle Pick Up B/R No. MZ 06 6517 driven by Lallawmzuala (40) s/o Hrangkhuma of Pem Veng Thingsai as under:
(i) Gelatine – 31 boxes (6200 Sticks), valued Rs. 2,17,000/-
(ii) Detonator – 47 boxes (100 each), valued Rs. 1,41,000/-
(iii) Cortex – 15 Rolls, valued Rs. 1,42,500/-
Case was registered at Thingsai PS for further investigation on backward and forward linkages.
